Privacy statement

This Standard Model Badges application is provided for The Big Bang Collective so you can make a personalised particle badge.

Controller

The data controller for this application is Kaj Siebert. The Big Bang Collective is the client for whom the badge service is provided. For questions or data rights requests, contact info@thebigbangcollective.com or kaj@k-si.com.

Data we use

We use the selfie or uploaded photo you submit, the particle you choose, queue details such as serial number and status, the generated badge image, limited technical records needed to run the service and a temporary browser lock cookie. The cookie links your browser to your queued badge request.

Lawful basis

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: the data is needed to provide the badge service you request, operate the queue and keep the badge station secure. Without the photo and temporary cookie we cannot create your badge or show you its status.

How long we keep it

Submitted photos and generated badges are kept only while they are needed to create, print and hand out the badge. Operators can delete the media from the queue, and remaining event media is removed after the badge station has finished.

Sharing and processors

Access is limited to badge operators who need it to create, print and hand out badges. Photos are sent to OpenAI to generate the badge image and are hosted on the badge service infrastructure. We do not use submitted photos for marketing, sell them or share them with sponsors.

Security

The service uses HTTPS in production, staff-only operator access and private media URLs linked to the active browser cookie or staff login.

Automated decision-making

The application uses image generation to create badge artwork, but it does not make legal, eligibility or similarly significant decisions about you.

Your rights

You can ask an operator to delete your photo or badge request. You may also contact the controller to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
